DIWALI FESTIVAL AT ST.PHILOMENA'S SCHOOL,TIRUCHIRAPALLI.

I was invited as chief guest for Divali function held at St Philomina Hr Se School,Tiruchi.I took this occasion to motivate the students to enhance reading habit. Cultural Programs performed by students were amazing.Environment of the school is very nice.

DISTRICT COLLECTOR DISTRIBUTED PAMPHLETS DURING STREET CORNER CAMPAIGN 

             In Tiruchirappalli District, Library week celebrated in grand manner.Almost all the libraries celebrated by organizing awareness rallies ,competitions,book exhibitions,street corner campaign etc.,The District Central Library conducted Quiz for students,competition for library users ,story telling,drawing,essay competitions for children,book introduction for students in blind school and street corner campaign inaugurated by District Collector.For library users ,a picture was displayed and they were asked to write story, essay, and poems after seeing the picture.For students essay topics wear given on the spot.29 prizes were given to winners of competitions in valedictory function held on 27th Nov 2013 at District central library .Mr.Krishnan Unni I.A.S Sub Collector distributed the prizes .Shivani College of Engineering and Indian academic librarians association(Tiruchi) sponsored prizes worth Rs 25000/-.The Reader's Forum headed by Mr V.Govindasamy extended full patronage to make celebrations success.

Story telling program is held on 4th Sunday of every month.Many children attend this program with parents.Feed back from parents are encouraging .

Books Donated for Dist Central Library,Tiruchy

In District Central Library,Tiruchirappalli there is separate section for competitive examinations including civil service examinations.With the help of District Collector ,District Central Co-operative Bank and People welfare committee donated new books worth Rs 1,50,000/-for this section in the presence of the District Collector who visited our library and had glance of new books exhibited on 17th Oct 2013.

Training for Village Librarians

The Department of Public Libraries organised a training program for village librarians on 13th Sep 2013 at District Central Library, Trichy.Mr.A.P.Sivakumar , District Library Officer inaugrated

The department of public libraries,Tiruchirappalli, celebrated Librarian's day valedictory function on 16th Aug 2013.On this occasion special lecture on Dr S.R. Ranganathan ,Quiz program,Paper presentation,and Debate took place.Librarians participated with great enthusiasm.Govt chief whip and M.P. participated as chief guests and distributed prizes and mementos to librarians who won competitions and made achievement in development activities during 2012-13.
