Thoraiur Rotaray Club donated steel racks worth Rs one lakh to public libraries in 2011.District Library Officer received at a function held in Thoraiur.

LIBRARIAN'S DAY CELEBRATION

The department of public libraries,Tiruchirappalli, celebrated Librarian's day valedictory function on 16th Aug 2013.On this occasion special lecture on Dr S.R. Ranganathan ,Quiz program,Paper presentation,and Debate took place.Librarians participated with great enthusiasm.Govt chief whip and M.P. participated as chief guests and distributed prizes and mementos to librarians who won competitions and made achievement in development activities during 2012-13.

STUDENTS ON LIBRARIAN'S DAY

On Librarian's Day 12th aug 2013 students of govt school dressed up as famous tamil literary personalities and visited district central library Tiruchi to greet librarians.

PROGRAM FOR I.A.S & I.P.S. ASPIRIANTS

District Central Library& Readers forum organised for college students to interact  with Ms Umamageswari who cleared IAS in 2013.Tamilnadu Govt chief whip distributed prizes to winners of competition held on world book day.This function was held on 19th july 2013.On this occasion a scheme introduced for differently abled who get books from DCL at their door steps with in 2km radius of District Central Library.  

District Central Library shifted to new building

 District Central Library was to new building which was constructed at cost of Rs 4.33 crore .It has two floors .Each floor has area of 17500 sq f.New building was inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu through video conferencing on 25th June 2013.

Enrollment of members in Libraries at doorstep

In Trichirappalli District there was membership drive to enroll teachers ,students and public as members of libraries. More than 22000 members enrolled following world book day celebrations on 23rd April 2013.The librarian of Thirupianchalli branch library went door to door to enroll members.
