EXHIBITION ON ASTRONOMY IN DISTRICT CENTRAL LIBRARY,TIRUCHIRAPALLAI.
The Department of Public Libraries and TamilNadu Science Forum jointly organised two-day exhibition on ASTRONOMY in District Central Library( 28,-29th Nov 2013)Tiruchy to promote scientific temperament among public.A sky observation program was also held.
STUDENTS VISITED LIBRARY
Tiruchirapalli District Central Library has very good infrastructure.About 1000 people including students visit the Library daily.Students of KASTURI RANGAN SCHOOL,WORAIYUR visited District Central Library in the month of Dec 2013.Mr.Nanmaran,Member of Reader's Forum took initiative to bring the children.A.P.Sivakumar,District Library Officer and Vivekanandan,Member of Reader's Forum gave motivational talk.It was first time for many children to visit library.But it was great experience for them.

FREE COACHING CLASSES FOR TNPSC COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS IN TRIPPAINJILI BRANCH LIBRARY.
Free coaching classes for TNPSC Exams are conducted by Branch library Tirupainjili, in Tiruchirapalli District.It was inaugurated by A.P. Sivakumar,District Library Officer during library week celebrations.Branch Librarian Selvamani with the help of Reader's Forum took special interest to do such extensional services.Dr.M.Tamilarasu,Asst Professor,Madras University,V.Govindasamy President,Reader's Forum,District Central Library,Selvaraj,vice- president ,readers forum Branch library, Tirupaiinjili spoke.Selvaraj in his address said that he studied only up to third standard in school.But,he studied all tamil literature in library.Library changed his life.He also said that he visited many places including New Delhi in connection with ARIVOLI scheme and he trained many people under INFORMAL EDUCATION-a State Govt scheme. He is living example to prove that Library changes lives of people.
