LIBRARY WEEK CELEBRATION IN TIRUCHIRAPPALLI-2014

Library Week was celebrated in grand manner in Tiruchrappalli in association with Readers' Forum.On 15 Nov 2014 Book Review competition was held in asscociation with Rotaty Elite at Indra Ganeshan college for Teacher Training Students.Students were asked to read a book for two hours and write about the book.On 16th Nov Drawing competition was organised for school students in association with Humor Club,Tiruchi.On 17th Debate was held at District Central Library.Poet Ra.Maathu was moderator.A QUIZ was held for senior citizens.Prof.G.Balakrishnan was quiz master.On 19th SPELLcompetition was organised jointly with Inner Wheel. Poem and Story writing competion by seeing a picture on the spot was held for book lovers on20 th Nov.Valedictory function was on 22nd Nov.Hon'ble Kadhi and Village Industries Minister inaugrated Differently -abled section and distributed prizes and honored librarians.

READERS FORUM PRESIDENT MEETING

Department of Public libraries, Tiruchirappalli organised a special meeting on 31st Oct 2014 at District Central Library,Tiruchirappalli.Presidents of about 50 libraries participated.All the librarians also participated.District Library Officer A.P.Sivakumar inaugrated the meeting.In the meeting it was discussed how to make the libraries vibrant and how to make library week celebration effective.It was very fruitful.Some of the presidents shared their success stories and valuable suggestions.

INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF EMERGING LIBRARY INNOVATORS CONFERENCE IN SANTIAGO(CHILE)

Participated International Network of Emerging  Library Innovators Conference organised by Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation in Santiago,Chile from 19th Oct 2014 to 23rd Oct 2014.There were 60 participants from 30 countries.It was a greate experience for me to learn many things from participants from different countries.I am thankful to Bill Gates Foundation,INELI Team,Mentors and Our Depatment for their support and patronage.
