                                               The department of public libraries,Tiruchirappalli organised Essay competition on the eve of World Book Day on 18th April 2013 at taluk level.Users of libraries participated with great interest.The competitions were held taluk libraries.294 book lovers participated.

A.P.Sivakumar,District Library Officer,Tiruchirappalli presented a paper on"Public Library Movement in Tamilnadu" at the National Seminar held in Palakad on January 16&17 2013.

TRAINING FOR LIBRARIANS

Newly appointed librarians were given training on"How to make Library movement vibrant"in Dec 2012.

TRAINING FOR TEACHERS

The department of Elementary School Education organized training program for newly appointed teachers.District Library Officer A.P.Sivakumar delivered special address.Steps were taken to enrole teachers as library members.
